I spent many years training in martial arts and boxing, but once I reached my 30s, my body began to let me down. I would often have to stop training for 12 months at a time just to recover.
Each time, I would come back and spend five or six months rebuilding, only for something else to break down and force me to stop again.
That pattern continued for years until, by the time I was in my 40s, I was living with constant pain. Eventually, I gave up training altogether and did very little exercise for almost a decade.
To be honest, I thought that part of my life was over.
Then, six years ago, I was introduced to Cindy.
From the beginning, Cindy took the time to really understand me, my history, my injuries, and everything my body had been through. She didn’t push me to prove anything. Instead, she helped me rebuild, slowly, safely, and with care.
She created a program that focused on restoring my movement, flexibility, and overall health without pushing me past the point of breaking. Just as importantly, she helped me unlearn the mindset I had carried for years, that training always had to be hard, extreme, and punishing to be worthwhile.
With Cindy, I learned how to move properly, breathe better, and respect recovery. She also guided me through prehab and rehab around my two knee replacements, which made a huge difference not only to my recovery, but to my confidence in my body again.
Now, at nearly 58, my life feels completely different.
I’m off pain medication. I’m boxing again. I walk every day. I haven’t had any training-related injuries, and I feel stronger and more capable than I have in decades.
But more than that, I’ve found a part of myself again. I’ve regained an enthusiasm for life that I truly thought I had lost.
Cindy didn’t just help me get fitter. She helped me rebuild trust in my body. She helped me believe that movement could feel safe again, and even enjoyable. That has changed more than just my health. It has changed how I live.
If any part of this feels familiar, if you are in pain, feeling stuck, or wondering whether it is too late to start again, I can honestly say Cindy meets you where you are. She helps you move forward in a way that feels safe, supported, and sustainable.
Starting again can feel hard. But it can also change everything.
Be brave. Start where you are. Take the first step. It is worth it.
