When I started training with Cindy in mid-2018, I had just come out of a demanding role where exercise had fallen to the bottom of my priority list. I wanted to rebuild a routine, not just for physical fitness, but to better manage work-related stress before stepping into my next role.
I’d done Pilates for years, but I felt like I was only maintaining where I was at. I often dealt with lower-back and hip pain, and I wasn’t really moving forward.
That’s changed completely.
Cindy adapts every session so I continue to build strength, improve my movement, and develop confidence in my body. I’m stronger, I move better, and I experience far fewer injuries. Just as importantly, I’ve learned that movement isn’t just about exercise. It’s about looking after yourself for life.
Over the past year, that understanding became more important than ever. I was treated successfully for breast cancer, and when I was ready to return to regular movement, Cindy’s approach made all the difference. Her belief that movement is medicine helped me rebuild strength, trust my body again, and recover with confidence.
When I returned, Cindy suggested joining a small group class to add a social element. In the past, that would have terrified me. I worried I wouldn’t keep up or that I’d embarrass myself. The reality couldn’t have been more different.
Cindy adapts the classes to meet each person where they’re at, and the environment is supportive, welcoming, and completely non-judgemental. We laugh, we chat, and we move together. It’s genuinely fun.
Recently, during a group session with a new client, it really hit me how far I’ve come. When I started, I struggled with balance and didn’t even know how to get off the floor properly. This time, I found myself offering encouragement because I’d once been in their shoes. That moment summed up the culture Cindy has created.
I’m now a true fan of group training. What began as a way to manage stress has become a powerful reminder that movement is life, and that consistency, care, and the right support can take you further than you ever expect.
